Our hike up Mnweni Pass and descent through Rockeries Pass in the Drakensberg was the first-ever Womxn for Wild adventure

We gathered a group of womxn willing to tackle something BIG! And what’s bigger than the Drakensberg mountains? With the help of Michaela Geytenbeek from Pathfinders SA, we made it up and back down again. It wasn’t easy but it sure was worth it.

Cool! What else happened on the trip?

Wanderlust Movement joined us

“If you’re looking for a challenge which will reward you with spellbinding natural beauty and make you feel like a wondering, out of breath ant – it doesn’t get better than Mnweni”

~ Lauren Melnick wrote a great honest travel blog about tackling this three-day adventure.

How to prepare for the Mnweni Circuit

“The first thing I read about the Mnweni Hiking circuit in the Northern Drakensberg? It is however not to be underestimated and will require a high level of fitness and hiking competency. Eish.”

~ Melanie van Zyl wrote this excellent guide on how to prepare for one of the ‘Bergs toughest hikes.

We got into Getaway magazine!

17kg, 12 hikers, 10 coffee rations, three nights, two passes and one community project. Melanie van Zyl does the maths and sums the Mnweni Circuit up as the most spectacular Drakensberg hike.

~ Melanie van Zyl compiled everything into one awesome article for the April 2021 issue.
